Guide
How to unsubscribe from emails in bulk.
Newsletters and promos pile up fast. Here's how to clear them out in an afternoon — and keep them from coming back.
Find every list you're on
- 1
Search for the word “unsubscribe”
Type unsubscribe in Gmail search. Almost every mailing list includes it, so this shows you nearly all your subscriptions in one view. - 2
Check the Promotions and Updates tabs
Sort by who sends you the most. A handful of senders usually make up most of the clutter.
Unsubscribe the safe way
- 1
Use Gmail's Unsubscribe button
For legitimate senders Gmail shows an Unsubscribe link next to the sender name. It uses the sender's official unsubscribe method, so you don't have to visit their website. - 2
Skip anything that looks like spam
Report spam instead. Unsubscribe links in scam mail only confirm your address is live. - 3
Clear out the backlog
Once you've unsubscribed, searchfrom:sender@example.com, select all, and archive or delete the old messages.
Do it in one place with Mango Pop
Mango Pop's Subscriptions page lists every mailing list in your inbox with how often it writes. Tap Unsubscribe and Mango Pop uses the sender's official unsubscribe method for you. New newsletters are routed to Someday instead of your inbox, so you only read them when you choose to.
Questions about bulk unsubscribing
Is there a way to unsubscribe from all emails at once in Gmail?
Gmail doesn't have a single “unsubscribe from everything” button. The fastest approach is searching for “unsubscribe”, working sender by sender, or using a tool that lists all your subscriptions in one place.
Is it safe to click Unsubscribe?
For companies you recognise, yes — especially Gmail's own Unsubscribe link next to the sender's name. For unknown or suspicious senders, report spam instead.
How long does it take to stop receiving emails after unsubscribing?
Most senders stop right away, but some take up to a few days. If mail keeps coming after that, block the sender.
Clear your subscriptions in minutes.
See every mailing list in one place, unsubscribe in one tap, and let newsletters wait in Someday instead of your inbox.
